Grantmaking
Our primary grantmaking falls into three categories: Building
health care capacity, strengthening healthcare systems and linking
people to care. These priorities are supported by community input,
evaluation of past grants, assessment of the critical health issues
now facing Colorado, the history of funding priorities established
by the Foundation. With this approach, Caring for Colorado
continues to support the expanded availability of health care
services in our communities. This approach also is consistent with
current thinking in health care reform efforts.
Building Capacity: Caring for Colorado is working to build capacity in the health care system to serve the health care needs of the people of the state. This includes expansion of community health services, bringing new services to previously underserved or un-served communities and strengthening health care in Colorado's rural communities.
Strengthening Systems: Caring for Colorado is working to develop integrated health care systems, to help providers offer both quality care and improved patient safety and to address the health care workforce shortage by guiding students into health professions.
Linking People to Care: Caring for Colorado supports programs that offer care coordination, transportation, translation, interpretation, telemedicine or other opportunities that extend medical resources. Each of these efforts helps facilitate access to care across systems.
